Our Story

Lios was founded by physicists Rhona Togher and Eimear O’Carroll, who have worked together since 2009 to transform how the world tackles noise. Their journey began with a mission to make the world quieter and healthier through cutting edge science and engineering.

Frustrated by slow, incremental advances in acoustics, they set out to deliver bold solutions with real world impact. Striving to reduce the impact of noise pollution on people and the environment. The result is SoundBounce, a breakthrough material that redefines what’s possible in noise reduction—lighter, thinner, and more powerful than anything else on the market. With applications across construction, automotive, aerospace and beyond, SoundBounce is enabling industries to cut harmful noise without compromising on performance or sustainability.

Over more than a decade, Lios has evolved into a deep tech company with a unique blend of expertise across materials science, acoustics, simulations, and commercialisation. Now working with global manufacturers to scale, backed by leading innovation partners and committed to building a quieter, greener future.
